Currently am knee deep in my Christmas card series. I may have mentioned it before but its a twelve days of Christmas theme. Above you see out-takes from my "Two Turtle Doves" card. I am hoping to have a huge pile ready to sell at the market this weekend.

Cafe Christmas Decor Instillation

Well I had a very full and fulfilling day. I just love Christmas and had a blast decking the Cedar Tree Cafe in holiday cheer. I even got to try my hand at window decor (though my parents insist the red laurel motifs could use some berries to make them more festive). All of the greenery was collected courtesy in my neighbour the wonderful forest. Now all we need is some snow to set the mood.

Friday Flowers & Apple Jelly

I am really impressed with how long the Wax Flowers (they are real, wax flower is just their name) are lasting. These are still mostly all in bright bloom three weeks later. The white ones are lasting longer then the pink. 

I also thought I would share a few shots of the delicious apple jelly that my mother made last weekend. If Anyone is interested I can share the recipe. The best part about this batch is that it is the first year we were able to use our own apples. Our solitary tree in the front yard had a bumper crop this year. I also think the fact that we now have a dog, is keeping the usual deer gang at bay.

Here is a playful doodle I thought I would post. She holds an antler & her jacket is spotted like a fawn. I should rework the image as this was more of a preliminary sketch, I will see if I have time.

Dancing Along in DKNY

I was working on my Christmas card designs today & thought I would take a fashionable break. After browsing through the catwalk line-up from Donna Karan's latest collection, I decided to give this playful number a whirl on the sketch page. Gathering inspiration from Haiti DKNY has done a splendid job on their collection for spring/summer 2012.

A simple pairing of Dogwood & Snowberries. I found both occurring in the wild, but they are often grown in gardens & parks. They create a simple rustic, but fresh take on Autumn foliage and colours.

Observations from a recent wander through a forest trail. This is one of my most favourite times of the year.
