Pin for the Win

Just thought I would share a few things I have been finding on Pinterest in the last little while.
Stella seems to have a pension for florals & I am not complaining.
I might not wear the gloves but the rest of this look from Burberry is working for me.
If you are not yet a fan of green a word of caution; that dress will seduce you.
Carven is bringing some intense pattern to the table & people are eating it up.
The last one is to over indulge in your eye candy sensory.
Happy Weekend!

Taking the Cake

illustration: reubenvision

I decided to make this drawing a little "topsy-turvy" as a reflection of my schedule lately. I haven't posted in what feels like forever & I will try to get some more content up here to make up for it. I referenced her legs from a great illustrater that I have only recently discovered. Check out her blog here: caitlinquiet.blogspot.com I am not overly pleased with how this turned out; but that is what practice is for. I  am also taking a observational drawing course right now & I might upload some of my class works.

Dancing Along in DKNY

illustration: reubenvision

I was working on my Christmas card designs today & thought I would take a fashionable break. After browsing through the catwalk line-up from Donna Karan's latest collection, I decided to give this playful number a whirl on the sketch page. Gathering inspiration from Haiti DKNY has done a splendid job on their collection for spring/summer 2012.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Soft Breeze

Soft Breeze: reubenvision

Finished this illustration in my sketchbook last night. I find the repeated circles reminiscent of coffee cup stains on my paper.

Prada Spring/Summer 2012

A little bit of a fun twist on my usual runway look drawings. Prada's most recent "car culture" inspired show was pretty interesting but not as quick a sell for me, as her usual work is.

Hint of Fall

Has anyone else felt the first nip of possibly cool airs stirring?
Are you beloved swarthy sweaters calling softly to you from your storage trunks?
Have the gleanings of summer's harvest made their way to your local supermarket yet?
Have you seen any hints of fall?

Royal Nuptials: Will & Kate

Well the Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in her wedding dress designed by none other then Sarah Burton for the House of McQueen:
The fact that her dress was to be designed by Sarah (shown above left trying to enter the Hotel this morning in disguise) was one of the best kept secrets in a long time.
It may have been a well kept secret but to me it was no surprise! I predicted it would be her the day she showed this seasons runway, back during Fashion Week.

& as you might have noticed it did bear a certain quality reminicesnt of Grace Kelly Princess of Monaco:

RUNNING LATE

The phrase "running late" is a bit ironic. If you had been running, you would not have been late.

B&W Prep ~ another Wedding Block Wednesday

A bit of posh class in Black & White with a touch of colour.
How cool would bridesmaids look, in floor length sheath gowns with polo & popped collar?

Short Sleeves & High Fashion

Alexander McQueen

Chanel Couture;

Jil Sander;

(both images) Christian Dior;
 found: http://www.vogue.co.uk/

Short sleeves are in & I am loving it!
Not only are they becoming on almost all body types,
but I find they create a nice line for the eye to follow when looking at a dress.
