weekend links 2

this dreamy number was spotted over at: www.saipua.blogspot.ca
How cool are hellebores?

I spotted this impressive outfit on my pinterest & thought I would share.

Now McKenzie Powellhas quite the knack for flowers & her studio is drool worthy (I do not lie!) Go stop by her blog you are in for a treat:  www.mckenziepowell/blog

Now this nifty bonsai tree is really like no other I have seen before. How cool would it be to have this puppy in your living room? www.tokyogoodidea.com/bonsai

That concludes my list for today. Hopefully it will be enough to unsettle the dust that has been collecting on this blog. I have been busy with work & school ... you know the rest.

Romantic Flowers in time for Valentines

(& yes that is Measha Brueggergosman)
these flowers just got fancier

So this past weekend I had the joy of creating some moody romantic flowers for a intimate concert performed by none other then Measha Brueggergosman. If you don't know her or her gorgeous voice, let google introduce you. Curly willow, driftwood, seeded eucalyptus, and little leaves I made from vintage sheet music, complemented a variety of different blooms. Check out more my "flower" blog for more photos.

Silver & Glass

So I was out hunting for treasures to add to my collection & came home with some lovely new pieces. I especially am fond of the little silver milk pitcher & the petite glass pitcher. I thought I would style it with some extra flowers from a small event this coming weekend. I will share some more of my finds later, but should have some new art to post before that.

Florals at Christmas Part II

arrangements: reubenvision

A mix of pinecones, roses, candles & evergreen boughs. Here are some shots of the centre pieces that will be making the trip to Grammy's. (I will be sure to replace the candle before I gift them ;)

Well I am off to get wrapping. We are doing Christmas as a family tomorrow before heading out of Province on the 25th. I am planning on one more post (Christmas Eve) before taking a little break for some holiday fun.

Autumn Arrangement DIY

photos & arrangement: reubenvision

A simple pairing of Dogwood & Snowberries. I found both occurring in the wild, but they are often grown in gardens & parks. They create a simple rustic, but fresh take on Autumn foliage and colours.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

 photo: reubenvision

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

busy busy busy

So last week I was "practice practice practice" and today with even more of that & everything else on the go I am just plain busy.
I decided to show some photo love to the the inspiring gal over at Honey Of A Thousand Flowers. In a short time, she has turned a dream into a highly applaudable floral business. Go check out her gorgeous arrangements.

O Give Thanks Unto The Lord For He Is Good

Some Harvest inspiration for the Thanksgiving weekend.  I used Sunflowers, Coxcomb, Hydrangea, rose-hips, Strawflowers, Sedum, & mixed berries & foliage. The White pumpkin I purchased at a local grocery. I am off to spend the weekend in a very scenic part of the country with my cousins. I am very excited as it is sure to be a delicious & gorgeous weekend.

I am very thankful to live in Canada, a country of peace.
I am thankful for my family.
I am thankful for great friends & support.
I am thankful for this wonderful creation called earth.
Most of all I am thankful for a God who loved me enough to give himself; a ransom for all.

O give thanks.

Festival Flowers

This past weekend was the Harvest Jazz & Blues Music Festival. I was able to exhibit some of my flowers at a local eatery Ceder Tree Cafe which was a host spot for some great live music during the festivities. Here are some quick shots I snapped. The arrangements are 90% wild flowers & locally harvested apples. It was a lot of fun & I hope to do it again soon!
