images: via

I would like to introduce you to Dietlind Wolf; a visual designer and prop stylist. I find myself returning to her blog (http://dietlindwolf.blogspot.com/) again and again for a source of inspiration & visual delight.
I encourage you to stop on over for a visit.

Taking the Cake

illustration: reubenvision

I decided to make this drawing a little "topsy-turvy" as a reflection of my schedule lately. I haven't posted in what feels like forever & I will try to get some more content up here to make up for it. I referenced her legs from a great illustrater that I have only recently discovered. Check out her blog here: caitlinquiet.blogspot.com I am not overly pleased with how this turned out; but that is what practice is for. I  am also taking a observational drawing course right now & I might upload some of my class works.

Festival Flowers

This past weekend was the Harvest Jazz & Blues Music Festival. I was able to exhibit some of my flowers at a local eatery Ceder Tree Cafe which was a host spot for some great live music during the festivities. Here are some quick shots I snapped. The arrangements are 90% wild flowers & locally harvested apples. It was a lot of fun & I hope to do it again soon!

Hint of Fall

Has anyone else felt the first nip of possibly cool airs stirring?
Are you beloved swarthy sweaters calling softly to you from your storage trunks?
Have the gleanings of summer's harvest made their way to your local supermarket yet?
Have you seen any hints of fall?

Summer Hues + Blooms + Eats

Thought I would share the feast my great mother spread for me back at the beginning of the summer before I headed off on my adventures. I figured it would be a great time to put my then latest vase into use. I created a tall centre piece & trailed some vines in the water for an added effect. All of the flowers grow in local fields (three cheers for living in the countryside!)

summer supper

Gathered at some friends house for a traditional "Sunday Supper".
We all enjoyed the fresh corn on the cob, spinach salad, market carrots, broccoli, home grown garden potatoes & BBQ steak. I brought some flowers I picked on my way there & after we got a tour of the chicken coop.

A Trip To The Ice Cream Parlour

So I had the pleasure of spending the other afternoon with my cousins. After a sunny day filled with fun adventures we decided to top it off summer style & get some ice-cream. Here are some cool shots of the parlour we found. My delectable choice ended up being "Over The Rainbow Sherbet" it was delicious!

SO THANKFUL that it is starting to look like summer days have arrived! Am home to the family this weekend. The wild flowers that grow around my parents house are so much more impressive then my stomping grounds. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Rhubarb-vision

So for many a year I was chiefly referred to as Rhubarb.
Not that I minded. Rhubarb is great especially in crisp.
Here are some pics of my D&G glasses that I need to wear for long distance
with some rhubarb styling.
