Dirty Glasses

Self portraits are not my favorite things. If I thought I was that interesting to look at you would have seen a photo of me on here earlier. This is the final result of a project for my creative process class where we had to do a variation on a theme. My glasses are just a little over a year old & already they have become an integral part of my identity. Before 2011 I was never the blonde boy with glasses. It is a love hate relationship; & if I had a dollar for every time I got a finger print on them I would not need my new job as a waiter. (well that is all the update on my life that is necessary) 

The Point of Pointillisme

Here is a piece I finished for my color study class. Using only tiny dots of red, blue & yellow paint we were to create value & contrast. My professor stressed that she was most interested in the mixing/overlaying of dots rather then the density. I think it gives a neat effect in the end. Although I am not convinced if the time it took was worth it. 

Classes in Session

So yes although it has been two years since I attended any sort of formal schooling; I have hit the books again. Here is to lots more time to doodle in class. (real jobs make doodling difficult) 

Rhubarb-vision

So for many a year I was chiefly referred to as Rhubarb. 

Not that I minded. Rhubarb is great especially in crisp.

So I am in dire need to re-tune my art skills.

If you look in my art book from two years ago my art was a kabillion times better.

I guess thats what happens when you get a boring desk job in an office with two other people

aka: you can't doodle all day because it looks bad & like you are not working!

Never fear I am going to start trying to produce one piece of art every day from now on.

I will load my best/most interesting drawings on Mondays and Thursdays.

The only bending of this rule is if I am working on a art project & take some time to work on it each day. Wish me luck.
