Promise a Peony

(sorry if it looks "pixel-y" I can't figure out how to get it at a better resolution)

Thought I would draw one of my favorite flowers. My earliest memory of a flower is a peony. The house I used to live had a huge patch of them. They were always covered by ants. Their scent is quite heady & gorgeous. They are truly a wonder of creation. Inspired after scrolling through little flower schools latest post:

Sorry I am unfamiliar with this model & don't know her name.

(I promise to hunt it down & get it though)
I sketched this quickly with pencil. Then I inked it with a regular black pen.

I added colour with crayons (of all things) & then melted the wax with an iron. 

I added a bit more detail with a fine point sharpie after.
